Polyclinics are a killer. Poor doctors & nurses working there. They must be really feeling super pressurized!

I woke up in the wee hours of the morning at 6.30am (to me, this is considered wee hours cause i slept at 1am the night before but that's another story altogether.)

Got ready & left the house by 7.05 for a long tiring journey to the east. LOL!

Anyway, my mum & i went to the nearby coffeeshop for breakfast thinking that the polyclinic was going to open at 8.30am so we didn't want to waste our time by queuing up while we could enjoy our lovely breakfast of beehoon/kway teow/noodles with fishcake and luncheon meat which cost me a FREAKING $3.10?! the price has gone up man. @ shunfu mart, they will only charge like $2.50 MAX?!

Sidetraccckk, so we took a slow walk to the polyclinic at AMK and to our horror! IT WAS OPEN ALREADY and look at the crowd.




IT WAS 7.45am for god's sake & the amount of people there waiting was MAGNIFICIENT. & that is just a small section of the polyclinic.

I waited about half hour for the registration & when i went upstairs for consultation, i waited another 2 & 1/2 hours. BEAT THAT. & i was supposedly considered damn early already. Doctor's consultation took less than 10 mins & i was asked to wait at another room. That took another 1/2 hour.

WAITED for a total of 3 & 1/2 hours for a referral letter. I COULD DIE.

but most importantly, i'm really proud of the doctors and nurses there who sacrificed their mornings, weekends and almost their life for the poor community who can't afford to go to a private doctor due to the high costs.

the clinic @ AMK opened 15 mins earlier cause they didn't want to see the old folks standing outside just to queue up & invited them in to sit while they wait. The staff even came earlier to the clinic just to cater that extra service!

As quoted by my doctor, " Singaporeans love to queue. School also queue, condo also queue. But when it comes to queuing at the polyclinics, all keep complaining."

I totally agree with that.

So people, let's start appreciating & stop complaining. the irony, cause i was complaining earlier. HAHA. but NEH MIND, i bet you forgot what you read already.
